Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: 24h urine collected in container without preservative and kept refrigerated or on ice during collection.. Ensure collection bottle is labelled correctly. Keep the collected urine refrigerated if possible and return to lab ASAP. Write your "start" and "end" date and time of collection on the collection label or requisition. Stability: Urine is stable refrigerated for 1 week. and frozen for 3 months (avoid freeze thaw cycles). Sample Rejection Criteria: Urine collected with acid or leaking specimen Transportation: Send sample to SMH core lab as soon as possible. |
