Specimen HandlingCollection Instructions: Fasting Specimen Preferred. Serum or heparinized plasma samples collected with or without gel separator. Write your initials, date and time of collection on the collection label.Stability: Albumin is stable at room temperature for 1 week, refrigerated 1 month and frozen at -15°C to -20°C for 6 months. Transportation: Transport at room temperature ASAP. Place on ice if time of collection to time sample get to lab exceeds 2hrs Special Instructions / Sample Rejection Criteria: Separate serum or plasma from cells within 2 hours of collection. Sample Rejection Criteria: Avoid Hemolysis and/or Non sufficient Quantity (Not Sufficient Quantity) |
