Specimen handlingCollection Instructions: 24h urine collected in container without preservative. Ensure collection bottle is labelled correctly. Keep the collected urine refrigerated if possible and return to lab ASAP. Write your "start" and "end" date and time of collection on the collection label or requisition. Stability: Urine is stable at room temperature for 4 h, refrigerated for 1 week and frozen for 3 months (avoid freeze thaw cycles). Transportation:Send sample to St. Michael's core lab as soon as possible. Laboratory Staff Instructions: 5 mL urine from mixed 24 h urine collection. Includes creatinine measurement for calculation of ACR. Sample Rejection Criteria: Leaking specimen, Unlabeled Specimen and less than or more than 24Hrs collection period |
