Medical Imaging

The medical imaging department is made up of a multidisciplinary team that includes radiologists, technologists, nurses, aides, clerical staff, porters and transcriptionists who perform around 260,000 exams each year. Each member plays a distinct role in facilitating patients through their procedures and providing diagnostic images and reports for physicians so patients receive appropriate treatment.

The department is fully accredited with the University of Toronto to train medical students, residents and fellows. It is also affiliated with the University of Toronto and The Michener Institute, and provides a clinical setting for training of student technologists. The department actively participates in research projects, which support the vision of St. Michael's Hospital as an exemplary health sciences institution.

The main department is located on the third floor of the Cardinal Carter wing (formerly Victoria wing). Imaging services are also offered in other areas of the hospital such as the emergency department, fracture clinic and pre-admission.
